QOTD: How many hours of sleep do you average and do you get enough?

AOTD: I love to sleep. I usually get about 8 hours of sleep. If I am tired, I seem to fall asleep on the couch and wander into bed later. I sometimes get more sleep on the weekends (If no on calls and wakes me up.)  I think 8-10 hours is ideal but hey, Life and work get in the way.

Mini Final Numbers

January 4, 2009

I got a little confused so here are my final numbers.

CE: 48/52/50 (Leftovers from Christmas did me in.  Not bad only missing by two CE.)
RT: 8/8 (Successful)
CT: 4/8 Frowner
PG1: Log calories 13 days. (2) Doh
PG2: Start a circa recipe file book. (Successful)

As you see, I was not totally successful, but… I learned a heck of a lot about myself so I figure that puts me on top.  I will take what I learned and move on to the next challenge.


Mini Day 9

December 16, 2008

I have not been doing very well.  I ate a pizza.  The whole entire horrible tasting pizza.  What was I thinking?  I was busy and I have been craving a pizza and ordered it.  Oh my gosh, it tasted like cardboard, with burnt topping.  Such a waste putting that horrible food in my body. 

 

I am finding the mini challenge hard.  I can make excuses and I have valid ones, but I should be able to fit in a measly 30 minutes of exercise.  Will I ever get this down?

 

I will keep on keeping on and hope for the best. 

 

My nephew did not come.  They are now coming on Saturday. OMG.  I do not even have a Christmas tree yet.  This is getting scary.  I might have to change my dinner menu to something less time consuming and not do any baking.  Sad, but necessary.  Might be a good thing.  I will not be able to take a taste, two, or three. 

I hope everyone is doing better than I am.  I commend you all for your dedication.  Most of you on this forum seem to be hard-core.  Am I the only new one on the block?  Do the new people stick around? 

 

I decided to not open the scale and just set it up next year before the challenge and work off those figures.  No since getting up or down depending on what it says when I cannot devote 100%.  I will weigh myself on my old scale on Friday before the boys come on Saturday and see how much damage I have done.  I hope that it is not too bad.  That pizza just upsets me.  I am happy I did it during the mini and not the 52DC.

Day 4 of the Mini Challenge

December 11, 2008

I am not doing very well. My low period.  Just do not have an interest in food or exercise.  I need to go to the market and just do not want to get dressed and fight those people. My meals are clean but probably not balanced.  I had cod and mixed veggies for breakfast and sliced turkey and cottage cheese for lunch.

Tomorrow I am going to a museum and walking.  I am hoping the boys come back this weekend. I have not heard a peep and I am starting to get concerned.  It is hard to live when everything is in boxes and taken apart.  Christmas will be upon us in no time.  If they are not coming back before Christmas I need to clean as much as I can and go get a tree. It is my turn to have Christmas and will have a house full of people.  Yikes.

I am thinking I need to buy another circa book and just put my clean eating recipes.  I can try to figure out the calorie counts on those recipes that do not already have it.  I love the circa concept.  That way, I just open it up and Voila, only food just for me.

Never again clutter your days or nights with so many menial and unimportant things that you have no time to accept a real challenge when it comes along. This applies to play as well as work. Day 1 of the Mini Challenge

December 8, 2008

Today is the first day of the mini challenge.  I decided to continue to keep me accountable.  This weekend, I spent the day with my mom and she is a fast food junkie.  Yes, I had Wendy’s.  I had 1/2 chicken sandwich, 1/2 of a small fry and 3/4 of a small Dr. Pepper.  I then went on to have pizza for dinner that night.  That was not bad enough they had a special and I would save money by getting the deal with cinnamon sticks.  Yep, I ate them all.  The next day I was kicking myself.  I am glad we are starting today.  This forum obviously keeps me in line.  No way have I wanted to sway.  Too many people have supported me and helped me along.  Not only do I not want to disappoint myself but also I do not want to disappoint those who have helped me.

So today, I went on a two-mile walk with my cousin.  We just did our normal. We were not in the mood to go up in the mountains.  We walked at a brisk pace.  On the inclines, we only struggled to catch our breathe the second time around, but not enough to stop.  A sign of how far we have come.

I had hard-boiled eggs and toast for breakfast along with a bottle of water.  I should have eaten before walking but sleep seemed to be more important.

I am going to try to do some RT tonight.  The boys should be coming at the end of the week and then I will not have access to the equipment.

Since I lost 10 pounds and I felt I should have lost 15, I am going to log my food, get my calories, and find out if I am eating too much.  With all the time constraints and the holiday, I figured if I posted half the time it would get me ready for next years 52DC.

I purchased a circa recipe book and want to put in the recipes I use along with the calorie information.  I love trying new recipes but sometimes I forget what cookbook they came from.  I used to be good at entering the recipe in the computer but life got in the way and I have not been doing it.  I know I purchased avocado oil for a few new recipes but I will be danged if I can remember what cookbook they came from.
